Laura Klein

In High School art I was pushed to extend myself and try mediums that were unfamiliar to me. I still adhere to that philosophy.
When I look at the world around me I see colors and vibrancy that make me want to record my interpretation of those visions .Throughout my journey I have used many media including pottery, watercolors, and weaving. Each one has given me a different perspective of my talents and interests. The pottery gave me a sense of fulfillment. Watercolor felt too confined a process for me. Weaving is tactile and gives me a sense of comfort .However acrylic is the medium that allows me the most artistic pleasure.
Most of my artistic life has been the pursuit of art for myself. I enjoy gifting pieces to friends and family. I derive pleasure from the satisfaction that these people have indicated they receive from those works. Now that I have retired from my career in elementary education I have the time to belong to other artistic organizations and associate more with fellow artists.

Gallery Associations:
Vacaville Art League and Gallery. ( 2015-present) FSVAA (2016-present)
I have won an Honorable Mention in the FSVAA Juried Show 2016.
My fiber art piece” Autumn Colors” won 3rd place in the FSVAA Juried Art Show in 2018. “Woven Basket” fiber art placed first in the 2019 FSVAA Juried Art Show.
